India’s former Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Sweden, and Latvia

Ashok Sajjanhar is a distinguished Indian diplomat and foreign policy expert who served in the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) for 34 years. He represented India as Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Sweden, and Latvia, and also held significant roles in diplomatic missions in Washington DC, Brussels, Moscow, Geneva, Tehran, Dhaka, and Bangkok.

During his illustrious career, Sajjanhar played a key role in negotiating major trade agreements—including the Uruguay Round, India–EU, India–ASEAN, and India–Thailand FTAs—while also strengthening India’s strategic and economic ties globally Motivational Speakers in India. He led the National Foundation for Communal Harmony, promoting inter‑faith understanding, and was honored by Kazakhstan and Latvia with national awards, along with receiving the “Ambassador of Peace” title from the Universal Peace Federation

Post-retirement, he continues his engagement as President of the Institute of Global Studies, a Distinguished Fellow at Ananta Aspen Centre and the Observer Research Foundation, and a board member of several academic and cultural organizations. A prolific writer and commentator, Sajjanhar frequently contributes to publications and television discussions on international relations, national security, and foreign policy.
