Panel Discussion on G20@20
The panel discussion has been conceived and planned to generate informed discussion and ideas for strengthening the G20 as a premier forum for global peace and economic stability. The panel discussion will reinforce the review of the G20@20 initiated by South Africa’s presidency.
Key Objectives
- To review the successes and failures of the first cycle of G20 summits and to map the way forward
- Generating concrete suggestions for rejuvenating multilateralism which is currently under severe stress
- Recommendations for ensuring that the developmental commitments made over the first cycle of the G20 presidencies are carried forward beyond 2026
- How to keep the focus on Africa and Global South under the next 20 G20 summits
- Ideas for strengthening G20 to shape an inclusive and representative international order
