Ahead of the 17th BRICS summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil’s Ambassador to India Kenneth Félix Haczynski da Nóbrega delivered a keynote address at a conference titled “BRICS in Rio: Shaping an Inclusive and Sustainable World Order.” The conference was organised by Centre for Global India Insights, a leading think tank focused on global affairs, in partnership with the Embassy of Brazil in India, at India International Centre in New Delhi on June 20, 2025. In this video, the Brazilian envoy highlighted the motto of Brazil’s BRICS presidency: “Strengthening Global South Cooperation for More Inclusive and Sustainable Governance” and underlined that the expanded BRICS holds out the promise of reform of international institutions with inclusiveness, with the Global South exercising effective influence on its reconfiguration. Alluding to a complex geopolitical environment, marked by increased polarization and distrust, the envoy underlined that the Brazilian presidency is focusing on “pragmatic, patient and inclusive consensus building.” The conference, moderated by Manish Chand, CEO, CGII, focused on the evolving agenda of the BRICS summit in Rio on July 6-7, 2025.
