In this video, Manish Chand, CEO & Director, Centre for Global India Insights, a think tank focused on global affairs, speaks about prospects of India-US relations under the Trump 2.0 presidency. He was delivering introductory remarks at the online conference titled “The Trump Card: India’s Choices & Strategy.” Outlining an optimistic picture, he also highlighted the need for India to be ready to deal with potential disruptions in areas of trade tariffs and H1B visa. “The friction generated by these two contentious issues will require nimble diplomacy by both sides and deft handling by Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” said Chand, author and foreign policy analyst. The personal chemistry between PM Modi and President Trump will play a pivotal role in ensuring that these issues don’t spiral out of control, said Chand, also Editor-in-Chief India and the World magazine-journal.
